What can I expect? ProFractional is a quick laser procedure used for improving the overall appearance of your skin by using a laser microbeam to treat thousands of pinpoint areas of your skin.

Procedure: ProFractional uses laser energy to create thousands of microscopic channels in the skin which are surrounded by areas of healthy, untreated skin. The zones of untreated skin invigorate the body's natural healing process, and the treated areas stimulate the production of new collagen, plumping up the skin and smoothing out wrinkles, lines, scars and other irregularities.

Duration: The procedure usually takes 20 – 30 minutes depending on the condition and the size of the area treated.

Anesthesia: A numbing cream will be applied approximately 1 hour prior to your treatment time in order to aide in comfort during the procedure. Depending on the laser settings additional anesthesia might need to be used by your surgeon through injection of topical ansthetic in the skin.

Hospital stay: Outpatient

How many treatments can be done? ProFractional is typically done in a series of 1 – 4 treatments, spaced 3–6 weeks apart, depending on your needs. It may also be an option to combine ProFractional with a MicroLaserPeel or other aesthetic procedure to further enhance your treatment results.

Recovery: Immediately following the procedure you will likely experience redness, resembling a sunburn sensation. Complete healing takes from 5 – 12 days, depending on the treatment depth and coverage area. Most patients may apply makeup within 3 days after the treatment.
