Sieveking Plastic Surgery has the most advanced combination of hair removal technologies. Nowhere can you find the combination of the latest Laser technologies and Electrolysis.
Various Benefits of Laser and Electrolysis Combination Treatments:
Laser:
Approved by the FDA for permanent hair reduction. According to The Mayo Clinic, lasers can reduce hair counts 40% to 80%. Facial hair on women is often lighter and finer than on the body, and this hair my not respond as well to the laser because it targets pigment (color) in the hair follicle.
Electrolysis:
The only method approved by the FDA for permanent hair removal. It has the best track record, but isn't 100% guaranteed for everyone. For example, hair follicles can be bent or misshapen from previous waxing or tweezing; now making getting the Electrolysis niddle to the root more difficult to destroy the follicle. However, Electrolysis is effective for ridding fine facial hair, whatever the color may be.
Combination Treatment:
The combination of our Syneron Laser and traditional Electrolysis maximizes the results of hair removal.
*When is it best to have Laser first?
Laser works best on areas where hair is darker in color and has a higher volume of growth. After having a series of laser treatments the hair growth will be reduced to the point that we can permanently get rid of the remaining sporadic hairs with Electrolysis.
*When is it best to have Electrolysis first?
Electrolysis works best on areas that have sporadic hair growth and/or lighter colored hairs. When having an Electrolysis procedure performed blood enters the treated follicles (under the surface) therefore giving the laser a better target with the lighter and finer hairs.
Permanent reduction/removal of unwanted hair is easier to achieve than you may think. Our medical aestheticians offer waxing as a temporary hair reduction method, however, laser hair removal can also be used successfully for a more permanent reduction in hair growth.
How many Laser Hair Removal treatments can be done?
At any given time, 20-40% of the hair in a particular area may be in a growth phase. Therefore, more than one treatment needs to be scheduled, preferably at 6-8 week intervals (typically 3-5 treatments, depending on the individual's response to laser and the amount of hair to be removed). With multiple treatments we can ensure that all hair follicles are being disabled. Most patients experience 20%-40% hair reduction with each treatment.
Procedure: The laser targets the darkness of the melanin pigment in the hair follicle. Patients experience a series of pulses as the laser targets the area to be treated.
Duration: Treatment time will vary anywhere from 10 minutes to 90 minutes dependent on your desired treatment area.
Anesthesia: There is no need for a topical anesthetic. While everyone's pain tolerance is different, the majority of clients do not think laser hair
removal painful.
Hospital stay: none
Recovery: Laser hair removal is a 'lunch time' procedure. There is no recovery or down time, although the area treated may experience a slight redness that should subside within an hour of the treatment. Patients may return to their normal activities immediately.
